The course is 5000m (5k) long. This has been accurately measured by us with a professional measuring wheel. The course is at Kneen Park, 3 Broadway Street, Valhalla, Centurion. The course is run on a mixture of trail paths, concrete paths, dirt track and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
Course Description
Single lap cross country course.
Start following baseball pitch, round the pitch at back heading back to the start follwing the white rocks and the palasides till the right turn at the fench heading towards the top pitch. At the picth turn left (follow white rocks) and cross the bridge.
Turn right just after the bridge and follow the route marked with white rocks all the way around the tree line until the next concrete bridge.
Turn left following the marked route with white rocks past the reeds and turn right onto the concrete path and follow the path until the white rocks and arrows indicating another right turn onto a dirt track.
Follow the route (white rocks) past the tennis courts, turning right at the barrier (follow white rocks) heading down to the driving school and right in by the gate and follow the palisades heading into the park (follow white rocks) and stay next to the palasides marking the outeside of the park.
And the end of the palisades turn right (follow white rocks) heading back up towards top of the tennis courts and the top turn left (follow white rocks) heading back into the park past the patch of trees.
When reaching the bottom turn right (follow white rocks) heading up to the bus stop and turn left (follow white rocks) heading down to in to the park again and just before the concrete bridge turn left (follow white rocks) all the way past the palisades to the steel bridge.
Turn right and cross the bridge (marked with white rocks) to the finish line.
