Welcome to the Piet Retief 5km parkrun, where the spirit of fitness and community converge in the heart of Mpumalanga. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a casual walker, our parkrun offers a warm and inclusive environment for all.
The course is 5000m (5k) long. This has been accurately measured by us with a professional measuring wheel. The course is at Piet Retief High School drop off zone, Piet Retief. The course is run entirely on trail paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
Course Description
From the start, head north for approximately 100m then turn east (right) on to a forestry road follow the road for 2.4km (keeping the stream on your left) until you get to the turn around point. Return on the same route. Whilst the course is pram friendly it is more suited to “off road” buggies.
