The course is 5000m (5k) long. This has been accurately measured by us with a professional measuring wheel. The course is at Onderstepoort Campus, Pretoria North. The course is run on a mixture of permanent paths and gravel paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Course Description

Starting at the residence gates, head straight & pass the sheep/cattle camps on your left & horse camp on your right. Turn left at the T-section (kennels on the left), follow the road, until the cattle crushes on the left. Here is a sharp right split. Take this (known as the cafeteria loop), until you get to the main road T-junction again & turn right. Continue on the short straight, passing the vet hospital & parking lot. Follow the road to the right & then the straight road, passing the parking lot & the Arnold Theiler Building. The road curves to the left & then to the right, & leads to a straight, passing the toxicology garden & the para veterinary building. Follow the main road curving right (do not continue straight into the parking lot). The road curves left around the Anatomy Hall, with the Equine Research Centre on the right. Follow the road until the T-junction, turn left, back to the start. Follow the straight section of the road until you reach a gravel road on your left side. Follow the gravel road, heading towards the main road again. Turn right at the main road & continue straight, repeating the loop again. When finished with the second loop, head back towards the start again. Before reaching the starting point, the road forks to the right. Continue on this road and finish turning right into the parking lot area at the sport fields.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at this event.
