Hogsback parkrun

features

The Hogsback 5km parkrun provides a unique and enchanting experience for participants in the picturesque village of Hogsback, South Africa. With its captivating natural beauty and a 5-kilometer course suitable for all fitness levels, this parkrun offers a refreshing way to embrace an active lifestyle.

The course is 5000m (5k) long. This has been accurately measured by us with a professional measuring wheel. The course is at Commonage on the Bluff, Hogsback (follow The Edge signboards from the Main Road). The course is run entirely on trail paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Course Description

The course starts in the parking lot of The Edge and heads right for 1 km along the fence line and then left down a steep hill facing the gorge. Follow the path parallel to gorge for about 200m and turn left at the 1st “lap 1” marker. Cross the commonage and turn right, run back along the fence line past the starting point (and a water stop). Looking out over the Thyume Valley turn right, follow the path until the “lap 2” marker, turn right cross commonage again, left at the intersection and left down the steep hill again. Follow the path home along the bluff edge, looking out towards the Thyume valley with the Hogsback mountains on your left.
