The first night’s sleep-over is in the Klipspringer wooden cabins, the base camp for hikers at Elangeni Resort. There are 5 wooden cabins available that can sleep up to 12 people each. The communal ablution block and a communal kitchen at the Caravan and Camping Park is available for use by hikers. The second night’s sleep-over is in the mountains at Sonbesie Hut which sleeps up to 32 people (8 per cabin). There is no electricity at Sonbesie Hut. We make use of gas geysers, small gas stoves, solar panels for lights and a two-way radio.

The first day’s hike is 14km from Klipspringers to the overnight hut in the mountains. The second day’s hike is 11km back to Elangeni Base Camp and inludes a visit the waterfalls. Total distance is 25km.

Slack packing can be arranged. The trail is open for hikers and their dogs every second weekend of the month.
