Discover this 5.5-kilometer loop trail in the Drakensberg region of Kwazulu-Natal. It’s commonly recognized as a moderately challenging route, with an average completion time of 1 hour and 27 minutes, and is an excellent choice for birdwatching, hiking, and leisurely walks.
This hike begins at Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge parking lot. It is a pretty flat loop which provides beautiful views into Royal Natal National Park from above as the Mountain Lodge is situated around 2200m above sea level. Half the hike is in Kwa-Zulu Natal and the other half in the Free State. Some sections have a steep drop alongside the trail.
