The course is 5000m (5k) long. This has been accurately measured by us with a professional measuring wheel. The course is at Pretoria Botanical Garden, Pretoria. The course is run on a mixture of paved road and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
Course Description
It is a single lap course, quite flat and fast. One hill 1,2 km from the end.
The starting point is on the open grass across the Lapa. Running in a northerly direction. The course then turns east and forks right.
Please follow the path and indicators on the route, pass Milk plum. The course then forks right. Follow the path to the double road. Turn left at the crossing & keep left up around the circle, turn right towards the carports. At the stop, turn right and follow the path back to the double road. Immediately turn left after the crossing and follow the path over the bridge and turn left over the grass passing the starting point. Turn right at the 3 km sign. The course then turns north and forks left. The path then runs close to the northern border of the gardens and turns left following the path around the loop up towards the hill.
At the top, participants will be directed to go left for about 20 m, turn around with 1 km to go, straight ahead to the double road down to the first crossing. Turn right and follow the loop towards the main entrance and then left towards the end.
